State police said Friday night that they had no additional information to release about two women who were arrested on prostitution charges in connection with a raid at an Athens Township business.
The Pennsylvania State Police have raided the business and arrested two women on prostitution charges, it was revealed Friday morning.
The business was identified as the Green Tea wow gold Massage and Spa, formerly known as the Green Tree, at 1370 Elmira Street.
Asked for comment on Friday, Dan Barrett, Bradford County district attorney, said, “I can confirm that the state police investigated and arrests were made about March 24. Two women were arrested in March and charged with prostitution.”
The warrants were sealed, Barrett said, because the investigation and prosecution were on-going and disclosure might hamper the investigation.
Barrett issued a brief statement Friday because of inquiries from the news media. The district attorney emphasized that the investigation is being conducted by the state police. The women arrested are of Korean background, Barrett said in the statement. “We have no evidence linking the prostitution or prostitution business with any other business or persons locally,” he said.
The district attorney declined further comment on the shanghai massage case.
The business was rented and has since closed.
